“We’re getting ready for the election. It’ll be held in time as per the constitution…no conspiracy will work,” he said while speaking at a rally at Palashi intersection in the city on the occasion of Janmashtami.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said those failed to destroy the country during the 1/11 episode are saying there will be no election. “A vested quarter is out to foil the election apprehending its defeat. They’re trying to create anarchy spoiling the relations with India through carrying out attacks on minority people,” he said.
Mentioning that the upcoming parliament session will be the final session ahead of the next national election, he said MPs will have no power after that. “So, there’ll be no scope for interfering in the field of election. All will have to abide by Election Commission laws,” he said.
The ruling party leader also urged all to refrain from stepping into communal polarisation in the name of national unity.
He also claimed that Hindus will face dire consequences if BNP comes to power.
