Eighty-nine physicians were appointed to different hospitals here.

Civil Surgeon Dr Md Shakhawat Ullah said the physicians joined different hospitals of eight upazilas.

They have been recruited through the 39th BCS.

Of them, 12 were posted at Sadar upazila, 12 at Hajiganj, 13 at Matlab Uttar, 12 at Matlab Dakshin, 13 at Faridganj, 16 at Kachua, six at Haimchar and five at Shahrasti.
