He came up with the information at a views-exchange meeting on developing the quality of education at deputy commissioner conference room on Saturday afternoon.
Zakir said the government has given school Tk 2,000 each for commemorating a national day (National Mourning Day on 15th August) for the first time. The amount will be Tk 5,000 from the next year. The schools, damaged by flood will get Tk 5 lakh and it is under process, he added.
Deputy Commissioner Sultana Parveen presided over the programme while Additional Secretary Badrul Hasan Bulbul, Rangpur Divisional Deputy Director Abdul Wahab, Additional Superintendent of Kurigram Police Menhajul Alam, District Primary Education Officer Shahidul Islam and many other officials were present at the meeting.
