Benapole, Oct 15 (UNB) – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized gold, silver, US dollars and narcotics worth Tk 77 crore from various border areas of the township in the last nine months
Lt Col Selim Reza, commanding officer of BGB 49 Battalion, provided the information during a meeting to resist smuggling of narcotics, arms, women and children with local journalists on Tuesday noon.
The seized items in the last nine months include 12kg gold, 5kg silver, $365,000 (US), 61 lakh Rupee, Tk 53 lakh, 25,000 Viagra, 700 Yaba pills, 22000 bottles of phensedyl, 900 bottles of foreign liquor and 340kg hemp.
Cases were filed against 280 individuals in this time period.
