“Since the lockdown can’t be enforced fully, the government should relax it gradually so that the working and common people can work and earn their bread and butter, and our economy is boosted,” he said.
GM Quader further said, “It’s not possible to get rid of the coronavirus only by enforcing the lockdown. Alongside awareness building, we must think about lives and livelihoods in order to deal with the corona. The lockdown should be relaxed considering the livelihoods of people.”
He made the remarks while distributing relief and Eid gifts among the needy people in Jatrabari area arranged by Jatiya Chhatra Samaj president Ibrahim Khan Jewel.
The Jatiya Party Chairman said people in the county are going through immense sufferings for lack of food as they have lost their jobs due to the shutdown.
He said their party has been working to help the poor and assuage the sufferings as per their ability.
Quader said their party also distributed PPEs, masks and gloves among the doctors. “We’re trying to help people of all professions, including journalists ad farmers. “We’re always beside the people and will remain so in the future as well.”
Appreciating the Jatiya Chhatra Samaj president for coming forward to help the poor, he said students have to play an important role in assisting the extreme poor at this critical time of corona pandemic.
