Rajshahi, Sept 23 (UNB) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested a drug trader along with 1.125 kilogram heroin from Khoribona Rodpara area in Chapainawabganj sadar upazila on Saturday night.
‘Drug trader’ held with 477 bottles Phensidyl
Chapainawabganj, Sept 23 (UNB) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a suspected drug trader from Boroteghoria Bridge area in Gomostapur upazila early Sunday.
The arrestee was identified as Laltu, 28, son of Malek Kashtur of Tinbari area under Radhanagar union.
According to a Rab press release, on information, a team of Rab-5 conducted a drive in the Northern side of Boroteghoria Bridge around 12:45 and arrested Laltu along with 477 bottles of Phensidyl syrup worth of Tk 3.33 lakh.
Minor boy killed in Gopalganj road crash
Gopalganj, Sept 23 (UNB) – A minor boy was crushed under a bus in Kadampur area of Muksudpur upazila on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Pappi, 7, son of Nibash Das, hailing from Nagarkanda upazila in Faridpur.
The accident took place around 7 am as the bus ran over the victim while he was crossing the road, leaving him dead on the spot, said Sub-inspector Nobo Kumar of Muksudpur Police Station.
The victim along with his family came to visit his maternal uncle’s house in the area.
‘Drug trader’ killed in Jhenidah ‘gunfight’
Jhenidah, Sept 23 (UNB) – A suspected drug trader was killed in a reported gunfight between two groups of drug traders in Boluhar Dakat-tola math area of Kotchandpur upazila early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Selim, 42, son of Nur Islam of Kashipur area.
Being informed about a gunfight between two groups of drug traders, a team of police went to the spot, said Biplob Kumar Saha, officer-in-charge of Kotchandpur Police Station.
Later, they found the bullet-hit body of Selim.
Police also recovered a one shooter gun, two round bullets, 40 bottles of Phensidyl, 300 Yaba tablets, four mobile sets and a private car.
