Chinese company Meigo (Bangladesh) Ltd is going to invest US $ 6.70 million to set up a collectable items and toys manufacturing factory at Uttara Export Processing Zone (UEPZ) in Nilphamari.
Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) signed an agreement with the company to this effect at BEPZA Complex, Dhaka on Wednesday, according to a press release.
BEPZA Executive Chairman Maj Gen Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA Md Ashraful Kabir and Managing Director of Meigo (Bangladesh) Ltd Lee Chin Hung signed the agreement on behalf of their respective site.
The company is expected to produce 700,000 pieces of collectible items and toys (die-cast, plastic, plush and fabric) where 1,056 Bangladeshi nationals will get employment opportunities annually.
