Miscreants set fire to two buses in Dhaka’s Tikatuli and Mohammadpur areas ahead of BNP’s 36-hour road-rail-waterway blockade across the country starting Tuesday morning.
A Midline Paribahan bus was torched in the Mohammadpur area around 8:30 pm.

Police arrested two people while they were escaping after setting the passenger bus on fire, said Mohammadpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tofazzal Hossain.
The arrestees were identified as Shahin and Abu Bakar. They are the residents of Adabor’s Mehedibag area.
They were taken to Mohammadpur Police Station following the arrest.

The police were interrogating them to ascertain the motive behind the arson attack and determine whether they were acting under any specific directives, said the OC.
Meanwhile, a staff bus of Delta Life Insurance was set on fire in front of Rajdhani Super Market in the capital’s Tikatuli area.
The incident was reported at 9:47 pm, according to Shahjahan Sikder, deputy assistant director of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters (media cell).
On information, two firefighting units from Sutrapur Fire Station rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
