Twenty platoons of BGB have been deployed in different parts of Dhaka to ensure overall security during the celebration of the Bengali New Year 1433.
The deployment has been made to facilitate a peaceful, festive and uninterrupted celebration of Pahela Baishakh with spontaneous public participation, said Md Shariful Islam, Public Relations Officer at the BGB headquarters.
BGB personnel have been stationed at important locations, including Ramna Batamul and its adjoining areas, InterContinental Dhaka, Kakrail, Matsya Bhaban, Engineers Institution gate, Doel Chattar, Bangladesh National Museum in Shahbagh, Shaheed Zia Shishu Park, the Chhayanaut event venue at Ramna Batamul, Ramna stage and Rabindra Sarobar in Dhanmondi.

The BGB is working in coordination with other law enforcement agencies to maintain overall security in the capital during the celebrations.
Meanwhile, to ensure the peaceful and orderly inauguration of the nationwide ‘Farmers Card’ distribution programme, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed at key event venues in 10 upazilas across nine districts.
The deployment locations include Barrister Jamiruddin Sarkar Collegiate Institute in Panchagarh Sadar and Bairati High School in Boda upazila, Shibganj Uthali High School in Shibganj upazila of Bogura, Goalanda Upazila Auditorium in Rajbari, Kripalpur Government Primary School in Shailkupa upazila of Jhenaidah, Bibirbazar High School in Cumilla Adarsha Sadar, Napiter Char in Islampur upazila of Jamalpur, Bashir Ullah High School in Juri upazila of Moulvibazar and Teknaf Ejahar Government Girls’ High School in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
BGB has been deployed at these important venues as required to ensure security during the programme.
