A Naogaon court on Sunday sentenced a man to life-term imprisonment for killing his wife over a family feud in 2021.
The lifer is Lubin Bask, 75, resident of Bheram Sondighi tribal village of Dhamoirhat upazila.
Abu Shamim Azad, judge of the Naogaon District and Sessions Judge Court, handed down the judgment on Sunday in the presence of the accused.

The court also fined him Tk 1 lakh, in default to serve 2 years more rigorous imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, Lubin Bask used to quarrel with his wife Malti Rani, 55, over familial problems.
On December 28, 2021, at around 5 pm, Lubin Bask hit Malti Rani with a bamboo stick on her head and other parts of her body. "Impact of the beating, Malati Rani died on the spot."
Later, a case was filed at Dhamoirhat police station following a complaint lodged by Shyamali Mormu, the wife of Lubin Bask's elder brother.

On August 24, 2022, the investigating officer of the case filed a chargesheet against Lubin Bask in court under Section 302 of the Penal Code, 1860.
Abdul Khalek, public prosecutor (PP) of Naogaon Judge Court, represented the state while Lawyer SM Mortuza Mahatab Uddin appeared for the accused.
