Dhaka, July 4 (UNB) - BNP standing committee member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain on Thursday said the national budget will not benefit the common people as it is not a ‘people-oriented’ one.
"No one can expect a people-friendly budget from an anti-people government. There's no reason that the current regime will place a pro-people budget when it has taken a position against them," he said while speaking at a discussion at the Jatiya Press Club.
Bangladesh Mohila Bigyan Samiti organised the discussion titled "2019-20 budget, allocation in education sector and our hope".
Mosharraf claimed that the budget will not be useful for the general people rather it will benefit a limited section. "If we want a people-oriented budget, we must install a democratic government. For this, it’s important for us to work unitedly to restore democracy,” he added.
