Former world champions Australia brightened their semifinal berth in the ongoing ICC World Cup' 2023 with a record 309-run victory over Netherlands in their 5th match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday.
Replying to Australian massive total 399 runs for 8 in stipulated 50 overs, the Netherlands were bundled out for just 90 runs in 21 overs to suffer a huge defeat.
After the day' s match, Australia advanced to the 4th slot in the points table securing six points from five matches while Netherlands went down to the bottom with two points from five matches
Earlier, Australia opted to bat first after winning the toss and piled up their 2nd highest world Cup total, featuring two centuries by opener David Warner (104) and number six batter Glenn Maxwell (106).
Later, Glenn Maxwell was adjudged man of the match for scoring the fasted century in the World Cup playing just 40 balls.

He broke Aiden Markram's record of 49- ball century made against Sri Lanka three weeks before, also in Delhi.
Among the Dutch bowlers, Logan van Beek was most successful taking four Australian wickets conceding 74 runs in 10 overs.
Despite opener Vikramjit Singh's 25, the Netherlands were forced to fold their innings at 90 runs due to devastating bowling by Adam Zampa, who grabbed four wickets giving away only eight runs in three overs.
