Rains, thunder showers with lightning likely in all divisions in next 24hr: BMD
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes in all divisions, including Dhaka of the country in 24 hours commencing 9am on Friday.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions,” said a met office update.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, according to the BMD.

Meanwhile, a m mild heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the districts of Noakhali, Feni, Patuakhali, Cox's Bazar,Lakshmipur and Bandarban and it may abate from some places.
The country’s highest temperature 37.6 degree Celsius was recorded in Satkhira and Jashore over the past 24 hours till 6pm on Thursday while the lowest temperature 22 degree Celsius was recorded in Dimla of Nilphamari till 6am on Friday.
A trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal to North Bay across Southwestern part of Bangladesh.

“Rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Khulna divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions,” said a met office update.
Mentionable, 17 people were killed in lightning strikes across the country on Monday.

The country’s highest temperature 36 degree Celsius was recorded in Khulna’s Koyra and Patuakkhali over the past 24 hours till 6pm on Monday while the lowest temperature 19.4 degree Celsius was recorded in Nilphamari’s Sayedpur till 6am on Monday.
