Child rescued from 30-foot hole in Chattogram
Fire Service personnel on Wednesday night rescued a three-year-old child alive after he remained trapped for nearly three and a half hours in a 30-foot-deep hole dug for a tube well in Raozan upazila of Chattogram.
The child, identified as Mejbah Uddin, was rescued around 8:15pm and admitted to Raozan Health Complex, said Md Jasim Uddin, Deputy Director of Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) in Chattogram.
The boy had fallen into the hole, measuring about one foot in width and 30 feet deep, around 5:00pm.
Five units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence from Chattogram were engaged in the rescue operation, Jasim Uddin said.
