Police on Thursday arrested 14 suspected leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir along with cocktails and gunpowder from a madrasa hostel in the municipality area of Sadar upazila.
They were arrested from the hostel of Sankarbaty Hefzul Ulum Fayeza Khanum Kamil Madrasa along with eight cocktails, 500gm gunpowder, six sharp weapons and books on militancy in the afternoon.
Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Ziaur Rahman said tipped off, they conducted a drive in the hostel where the Shibir men were planning to carry out sabotage.
A case was filed with Sadar Police Station in this regard, he said.
