The Parliamentary Committee on Estimates was constituted on Wednesday, taking the total number of committees formed so far in the 13th Parliament to 46.
BNP lawmaker Reza Kibria (Habiganj-1) was made the chairman of the committee.
Besides, two existing parliamentary committees related to the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Religious Affairs were reconstituted with changes to several members of the two bodies.
Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni proposed the formation of the one committee and reconstitution of the two existing committees. His proposals were later passed by voice votes in the House.
There are 50 parliamentary committees in the Jatiya Sangsad, including 39 standing committees on ministries and 11 subject-based committees.
Of the 50 parliamentary committees, 46 have so far been formed.
