Police in a drive arrested four people including the father of an independent candidate along with posters and a bag containing Tk 7 lakh from Sonatala on Sunday night.
The arrestees were identified as Intejar Rahman, 60, former assistant sub-inspector, Rohan Foysal, 25, Farbin Bin Rashid, 20, Mikanur Rahman, 26 of Sariakandi upazila and Jamal Hossain, 30 of Borhanuddin upazila in Bhola district.
Zahid Hossain Mandal, inspector of Sonatala Police Station, said the supporters of Awami League candidate challenged a microbus, carrying five people including Intejar and informed the matter to police suspecting their involvement in wrong activities.
Later, police recovered posters of the Independent candidate with truck symbol and a bag containing Tk 7 lakh from their possession.
Police also arrested them.
