A 13-member delegation from Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in India entered Bangladesh through Petrapole check-post on Saturday to pay tribute at the grave of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of Mujib Borsho.

“We have come to Bangladesh to pay homage at Bangabandhu on the occasion of his birth centenary. After placing floral wreaths at his grave in Tungipara, Gopalganj at 8 am on Sunday, we will visit the Bangabandhu Museum,” said Toufique Hasan, Deputy High Commissioner who is leading the team.

“Later, we will return to Kolkata through Benapole to conclude our journey,” he added.

Ashraful Alam Liton, mayor of Benapole municipality, received the delegation with wreaths and crest.

BM Jamal Hossain, Minister (Political), Shaikh Shafiul Imam, Councilor (Education and Sports), Md Mofakkharul Iqbal, First Secretary (Press), Shamsul Arif, First Secretary (Commercial), Shamima Yeasmin Smriti, First Secretary (Political-II), Shaikh Shafinul Haque, among others were on the occasion.
