Ten people died of dengue and 1,996 new patients were hospitalised in the country in the 24 hours until 8:00am on Tuesday.
With the latest fatalities, the dengue death toll has risen to 281 in the country this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the new deaths, three were reported in Khulna division, two in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), two in Barishal division, and one each was recorded in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions.
Of the total deaths recorded this year, 47.7 percent were men and 52.3 percent were women.
Since January 1 this year, a total of 90,356 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country. Of them, 84,299 have recovered.
According to the DGHS report, so far 75 have people died in DSCC while 55 in Khulna division, 35 in DNCC, 25 in Chattogram division, 23 in Mymensingh, 24 in Barishal, 19 in Rajshahi, 17 in Dhaka, six in Rangpur and two died in Sylhet division.
