Bangladesh Bank has extended the operational hours of banks by an hour during the extended general holidays until April 9.

As per the new timetable, some selected  branches of the scheduled banks will now remain open from 10 am to 3 pm with transaction period from 10 am to 1 pm.

A circular, issued by the Department of Off-site Supervision of the Bangladesh Bank on Thursday, said the existing bank operation hours have been re-fixed after the government extended the general holidays up to April 9.

The circular mentioned that during this extended time, banks will have to ensure different services like receiving deposits and cheques, making payments and issuing DDs, Pay-Orders, treasury chalan, and other facilities under the clearing system.
