Nobel Laureate and Chairman of Grameen Communications Dr Muhammad Yunus expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of singer Andrew Kishore.
In a condolence message, Professor Yunus described him as the industry’s most decorated singer and a great talent.
“He was an extremely humble person who happened to believe that his biggest achievement was love from people, more than his awards,” Professor Yunus said.
Mentioning that his work was mesmerising and will be a great source of inspiration for many coming generations and artists, the Nobel Laureate also said his demise has created a cultural void in the country.
Andrew's loss is irreparable and he will be greatly missed. May his soul rest in peace, he added.
