President Mohammed Shahabuddin on Sunday directed Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) to take necessary steps to encourage patients to seek treatment in super specialized hospitals instead of going abroad.
He made the remarks when BSMMU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Deen Mohammad Nurul Haque called on him at Bangabhaban in the afternoon.
Briefing reporters President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin said during the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor informed the President about the overall activities of BSMMU including treatment facilities.
Saying that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University a specialized institution, President Shahabuddin said patients should be given the highest priority regarding better treatment and services.
The President also urged to speed up the overall activities of BSMMU including timely measures in providing treatment and services to patients.
Secretary to the president’s office Md Wahidul Islam Khan and military secretary major general Mohammad Adil Choudhury were present at the meeting.
