New Canadian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Lilly Nicholls has expressed her happiness after being welcomed with Bangladeshi sweets upon her arrival here.
"I am so pleased to have arrived in Dhaka to lead the Canadian High Commission in Bangladesh. And so happy to be welcomed with delicious Bangladeshi sweets!" she tweeted Wednesday.

Lilly, who replaced Benoit Préfontaine, has 30 years of experience in international affairs.
Her career has spanned six continents and includes leadership roles in government, international organisations and civil society.

Most recently, Lilly served as the ambassador of Canada to Panama from 2018 to 2021.
