Police recovered two hand grenades from a government primary school in Gangni upazila of Meherpur district on Sunday morning.
The explosives, wrapped in red scotch tape, were found around 9 am on the third-floor corridor of Raipur Government Primary School in the upazila, causing panic among teachers and students.
On information, police recovered the grenades and defused them by placing them in a bucket filled with water.

Fawzia Akter, the head teacher of the school, said students spotted the suspicious objects while going to their classrooms in the morning.
"We then informed the Elangi police camp and the bombs were promptly removed by the police," she added.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gangni police station Bani Israel said the grenades investigation is currently underway.
