Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has awarded financial information exchange (FIX) certification to 13 more brokerage houses under its initiative to introduce in-house order management systems (OMS) through application programming interfaces (API) connectivity.

The certification ceremony was held on Thursday at the DSE Training Academy where DSE Chairman Mominul Islam handed over the certificates.

“Thanks to the 13 brokerage houses that have received FIX certification today. For those who are yet to come under this system, DSE is working to provide necessary support,” the chairman said.

He noted that all stakeholders must work together for the sustainable development of the capital market, adding that the ongoing reforms are leading the market towards a positive direction.

The newly certified brokerage houses are Apex Investment Ltd, Bank Asia Securities Ltd, EBL Securities PLC, Green Delta Securities Ltd, ICB Securities Trading Co Ltd, Islami Bank Securities Ltd, NLI Securities Ltd, NRBC Bank Securities Ltd, One Securities Ltd, SBAC Bank Investment Ltd, Shahjalal Islami Bank Securities Ltd, Smart Shares & Securities Ltd and UCB Stock Brokerage Ltd.

DSE’s API initiative

DSE launched the initiative to introduce API-based Broker House Order Management Systems (BHOMS) in 2020. Since then, 65 brokerage houses have applied to connect with the NASDAQ Matching Engine using their in-house OMS.

With Thursday’s certifications, a total of 39 brokerage houses have now received FIX certification of which 22 are already running their in-house OMS.
