Francisco Torres scored the match winning goal for the popular sky-blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani in the 3rd minutes of the added time (90+3) in the day's 4th and last quarterfinal.
The forward was cautioned with a yellow card for taking off his jersey to celebrate scoring the match decider. However, he was adjudged the best player of the match.
Mario Lemos' boys earned the deserving victory in the day's match after spoiling a series good scoring chances.

The 11th times champions Dhaka Abahani will play defending champions Bashundhara Kings in the 2nd semifinal on January 7 at 4:pm while Saif SC will play their fellow port city team Chittagong Abahani Ltd in the first semifinal on January 6 at 4:pm at the same venue.
