Bangladesh held India to a score of 145 in Monday's first T20I of the five-match series in Sylhet. India won the toss and elected to bat.
India faced an early setback when Smriti Mandhana was bowled for nine by Fariha Trisna. Mandhana attempted to drive a full delivery but mistimed the shot, ending up in a thick edge to the stumps.
Shefali Verma and Yastika Bhatia steadied the innings with a solid partnership. Rabeya Khan eventually ended their stand, but India continued to build a competitive total.
Yastika scored a valuable 36 off 29 balls, while captain Harmanpreet Kaur added 30 before Fahima Khatun dismissed her. Wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh provided a late boost with a brisk 23 off 17, pushing India's total past the 140-run mark.
In the end, India finished on 145 for seven. Rabeya Khan led the way for Bangladesh with three wickets, and Marufa Akter contributed two.
