The OnePlus Nord series is known for its flagship-level specifications and sleek design. It features a unique design and differentiation from the other devices in the market. The phones are made with a focus on gaming, photography, and audio. While the series was first introduced in 2020, the company continues to add new phones to the series. Now they are releasing a new phone, the OnePlus Nord 2T, in its lineup. The phone was released on July 5 in India. Let's see the details of the Nord 2T and what we can expect from it.

Key Features of OnePlus Nord 2T

Design

The Nord 2 T's design is very similar to its predecessor Nord 2 5G. From the front, it is nearly impossible to tell the two telephones apart as the sides have the same glossy polycarbonate frame. However, you will see the difference on the back as Nord 2T has a larger camera with a big circular element. But the cameras are in the same place as the Nord 2. The phone comes with Jade Fog finish with a glossy back, which features a better grip. However, the Nord 2T is smaller in size compared to flagship phones. On the sides, the phone features a power button on the right and a volume rocker on the left. Buttons are located high on each side so that you can adjust your grip easily.

Display

Nord 2T comes with a 6.43-inch screen which features a 2400x1800 resolution AMOLED display. The display also supports a 90Hz refresh rate. Besides, it will also provide HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG. Although OnePlus mentioned Display P3 support and sRGB, it doesn't offer any color management support. But you will be able to switch manually using the screen color mode setting. In this way, you can also change the color temperature.

While the display brightness is good for indoor use, the outdoor performance might be satisfactory for some users. However, the display has an excellent viewing angle.

While most of the phones in 2022 offer a 120Hz refresh rate, Nord 2T comes with a 60Hz and 90Hz refresh rate. This may seem outdated to some users.

The good thing about the 2T display is that it offers a built-in optical fingerprint sensor.

Camera

Despite the lack of premium camera features, the OnePlus 2T model does not come with a poor-quality camera setup. It has a triple camera setup at the base that includes a 50-megapixel main, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor for black and white photographs.

The 50MP main camera includes optical image stabilization. It may perform less low light, but it manages to produce sharp and clear pictures. The pictures are clear and powerful, seeming under daylight, but there's a lot of graininess when the light decreases. The autofocus might not be great, but it does not affect the picture.

Further, the 8MP ultrawide sensor takes the finest photos, taking into account the amount of light and the depth of the subject you are photographing. In light conditions, the 2MP lens takes average photos.

The front-facing 32 MP selfie camera produces images that accurately depict natural skin tones. However, the subject and other details are secondary, but the colors are true. The selfie camera comes with a low noise feature while the videos remain crisp and smooth, with even less flicker and dimming.

You can record 4K videos at 3fps or 1080p at 60fps with OnePlus Nord 2T.

Software and Performance

OnePlus Nord 2T uses the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chipset. It doesn't seem to provide much improvement over Dimensity 1200 SoC as the processor cores and their clock frequencies remained identical. MediaTek swapped the Density 1200 SoC with HyperEngine 5 for superior gaming performance.

OnePlus has incorporated a Dimensity 1300 SoC chip with 12 gigabytes of LPDDR4X memory. It also offers 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. OnePlus One 2T uses Android 12 with Oxygen OS 12.1 as its operating system. This is an optimized version that runs smoothly and eliminates any unnecessary complications that may be present in other OS versions. Oxygen OS 12.1 is a well-known choice for various phones, having previously been used on the OnePlus 10 Pro, Nord CE 2 Lite, and 10R. ColorOS 12 with an alternate design and should be encountered by anyone who has come from Oppo or realme.

Battery and Charging

The Nord 2T 5G has a dual-cell 4500mAh battery even in the newest generation, with 80W charging speeds, an improvement of 65W.

With the fast-charging capability, the Nord 2T 5G can draw the batteries back to full capacity in approximately 38 minutes and 98% in just 30 minutes. These numbers are more or less comparable to the ones using the 65W charger on the Nord 2T 5G.

Price of OnePlus Nord 2T Official

OnePlus offers 2 versions of the Nord 2T in India. The 8GB+128GB storage is priced at ₹28,999 or BDT 34066 (1 rupee= BDT 1.17) and 12GB+256GB is ₹33,999 or BDT 39940 (1 rupee= BDT 1.17). The official price of OnePlus Nord 2T in Bangladesh may vary depending on tax and other issues. The phone is not officially available in Bangladesh yet.
