Two Israeli embassy staff members were shot and killed Wednesday evening near the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., according to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
Noem confirmed the incident in a post on X, noting that the shooting occurred just steps from the FBI’s Washington field office.

As of late Wednesday, police had not disclosed any details about the motive. Authorities were expected to hold a press briefing later that night.
“We are confident that U.S. authorities will take decisive action against those behind this criminal act,” Danon wrote on X. “Israel will continue to take firm steps to protect its citizens and representatives worldwide.”
