An Iranian security official said Thursday his government received a message from U.S. Vice President JD Vance, according to a report by the semi-official Fars news agency.
The report did not detail the message, which was sent to Major General Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. It said Iran has not responded to the letter.
Diplomats say U.S. officials have told Middle East countries and regional allies to be prepared for potential renewed military action against Iran after next week’s midterm elections in the United States.
