A person was killed and around 15 were injured in a head-on collision between two buses on Dhaka-Barisal highway in Kashipur area of Barisal on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Md. Kalam, the driver of the SR Paribahan bus.
According to police, a Barisal-bound bus of Islam Paribahan crashed into a Swarupkathi -bound bus of SR Paribahan at about 3:30 pm.
“The accident left the driver dead on spot. Fifteen patients with critical injuries have been admitted to hospital,” said Lokman Hossain, Inspector of Airport Police Station.
The injured were admitted to Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
“Traffic has returned to normal. Both buses involved in the accident have been seized,” Inspector Lokman said.
