Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh on Sunday said mobile courts will be operated from August 16 to keep the dengue situation under control by destroying Aedes mosquito.
He made the disclosure at a review meeting of the year-long integrated mosquito control activities at Nagar Bhaban this afternoon.
The breeding grounds of Aedes mosquito still exist at buildings of different government agencies, institutions, and under-construction establishments.
“We’ll start conducting mobile courts from August 16 to tackle the situation. We’ll destroy the breeding grounds, take stern action against the responsible [people], and make people aware [about the dangers posed by Aedes],” Taposh said.
Initially, the DSCC will conduct two mobile courts, he added.
DSCC Chief Executive Officer Shah Mohammad Emdadul Haque, Chief Waste Management Officer Air Commodore Mohammad Badrul Amin, Chief Health Officer Brigadier General Dr Sharif Ahmed, among others, were present at the meeting.
