Three men on a bike were killed after a speeding truck crushed them in Bagerhat's Rampal upazila on Thursday night.

The deceased were identified as Enamul ,26, son of Basar Sheikh of Shankar Nagar village of Rampal upazila of Bagerhat district, Arif ,27, son of Motachher of Belai area of the same upazila and Saiful ,30, son of Shukur Ali of Lakhpur village of Fakirhat upazila of the district.

The accident occurred around 9pm when the truck crashed into the bike coming from the opposite direction near Tetulia Bridge area on Khulna-Mongla highway, leaving them dead on the spot, said SM Asharful Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Rampal police station.

On information, police and fire service personnel rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.

“Efforts are on to seize the truck and arrest its driver and his assistant,” the OC said.
