Residents say they have been exposed to polluted air for years, resulting in respiratory illnesses, allergies and other health complications. They claim the persistent pollution has made the neighbourhood increasingly unhealthy, particularly for children and the elderly.

Workers at many of the factories are also reportedly operating in hazardous conditions without adequate personal protective equipment, exposing them to a greater risk of workplace accidents and occupational diseases.
