Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming on Thursday handed over 14,280 surgical masks provided by Yunnan Province to Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS).
BDRCS Chairman Hafiz Ahmed Mazumdar, MP, Vice Chairman Prof Dr Md. Habibe Millat, MP, Treasurer Lutfur Rahman Chowdhury Helal and Secretary General Md. Feroz Salah Uddin attended the ceremony held at the Embassy.
Ambassador Li also presented the Chairman a new book of President Xi Jinping - the Governance of China, Volume III.
Ambassador Li said in last December Chairman of Red Cross Society of China Chen Zhu visited Cox's Bazar and Holy Family Hospital of BDRCS in Dhaka.
In January, the Chairman, vice chairman, and secretary general of BDRCS visited Kunming, Yunnan Province.
RCSC and BDRCS have good relations and exchanges, according to the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka.
BDRCS has been doing a good job in fighting Covid and floods, it said.
China said it will continue to support relevant agencies and organisations in Bangladesh to overcome the difficult times.
The BDRCS chairman thanked China, recalled his trip to Kunming in January this year, introduced what BDRCS has been doing during this special time and wished a deeper cooperation with China.
