The health authorities are planning to put Dhaka, Narayanganj, Gazipur and Narsingdi under lockdown on pilot basis at the initial stage.
Dr Abul Kalam Azad, director general of Directorate General of Health Services, made the disclosure while talking to UNB on Sunday.
“A proposal has been placed to put the four districts under lockdown on pilot basis. It’s merely a proposal, the government will take the final decision,” he said.
He said recommendation to divide the country, including Dhaka, into three zones – red, yellow and green – will be disclosed once the government takes a decision.
