In Chattogram, An eighth grader was raped by two youths when she went to visit Diang hill at Juldha village in Karnaphuli upazila.

Md Alamgir Mahmud, officer-in-charge of Karnaphuli Police Station, said the girl, a resident of Hathajari upazila, went to her grandfather’s house in the area with her mother and two younger sisters.

She was sexually harassed by Naim,20 first and then raped by Md Roki ,20 when she went to visit Diang hill in the area.

The OC said the victim’s grandfather informed police about the incident on Thursday night after he came to know the matter from the girl.

Police on Friday morning arrested Naim and Roky from the area.

The OC said the victim was sent to CMP Victim Support Centre where medical test will be conducted on Saturday in a hospital.

In Khulna, a housewife was allegedly gang-raped at Nolian in Dacope upazila here on Friday night.

Victim’s mother-in-law claimed Shariful Gazi, 30, his brother Saiful Gazi, 22 and their friend Abir Shikder entered their home and raped her daughter-in-law around 10 pm.

The incident occurred when she and her son went out leaving her daughter-in-law alone at home, she said.

The victim was admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital.

Shafiqul Islam Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of Dacope Police Station, said he heard about the incident and necessary steps will be taken.
