The government has formed an ad-hoc Bar Council under Article 8 of the Bangladesh Legal Practitioners and Bar Council Order, 1972 (President’s Order No. 46 of 1972), according to an official notification issued Tuesday.
The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs published the Statutory Regulatory Order listing the newly appointed members of the ad-hoc Bar Council.

The ad-hoc Bar Council will be headed by the Attorney General of Bangladesh and will include 14 prominent lawyers and legal professionals from across the country.
Among those appointed to the council are: Advocate Joynul Abedin, Advocate Md. Ruhul Kuddus Kamal, Advocate Abdullah-Al-Mamun, Advocate A.M. Mahabub Uddin Khokon, Advocate Shah Md. Khasruzzaman, Advocate Md. Nazrul Islam Khan, Advocate Md. Abdul Matin, Advocate Md. Mohsin Mia, Advocate ASM Badrul Anwar, Advocate ATM Foyez Uddin, Advocate Kazi Enayet Hossen, Advocate Md. Mainul Ahsan, Advocate Md. Shafiqul Islam.
The formation of the ad-hoc council comes amid procedural requirements as per the legal framework guiding the regulation of legal practitioners and the functioning of the Bar Council in Bangladesh.

The order was signed by Secretary Sheikh Abu Taher of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
