Govt provides Tk 1.82 cr for deceased RMG workers’ families


The Labour and Employment Ministry on Sunday donated Tk 1.82 crore to assist the families of 91 deceased garment workers.

All the deceased workers were working in the garment sector under the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA)  

State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian handed over the donation to BGMEA representatives at the ministry.

Another Tk 25.89 lakh was also provided to BGMEA,  towards the payment of arrears by a factory forced to close down. The money came from the crisis fund of the ministry.
