Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted landslides at different places in the hill districts due to incessant rains.
According to the bulletin, “Due to very heavy rainfall, landslides may occur at places in the hill districts of Chattogram, Rangamati, Bandarban, Khagrachhari and Cox’s Bazar. And temporary waterlogging may occur at places over Dhaka and Chattagram metropolitan area,” it said.

The well-marked low over Northwest Bay and adjoining area intensified into a depression over the same area.
It is likely to move nearly northwards and intensify further.

Under its influence, heavy (44-88mm/24hrs) t very heavy (88mm/24 hrs) rainfall is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Sylhet, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Rangpur, Rajshahi divisions during next 24 hours commencing 11 am on Thursday.
