The President made the remark while talking to an eight-member delegation of Bangladesh Competition Commission, led by Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, at Bangabhaban, said President's Press secretary Joynal Abedin.
He said the President stressed the need for preventing evil competition for reaching the benefits of healthy competition to traders and consumers. A healthy competition plays a positive role in expanding trade and investment, Hamid said.
During the meeting, the delegation submitted the annual report of the commission for the fiscal year 2018-19, and apprised him of their various activities, Joynal Abedin said.
BCC Chairman Mofizul Islam, Commerce Secretary Zafar Uddin, Secretary to the President’s office Sampad Barua, Military Secretary to the President Major General SM Shamim-Uz-Zaman were present.
