The arrestee was identified as Mafizul Islam, owner of a brick kiln and son of Shahajat Ali of the upazila.
Obaidur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Gangni Police Station, said the victim filed the case against Mafizul on Tuesday night.
Mafizul was sent to jail when he was produced before the court on Wednesday while the victim was taken to Meherpur General Hospital for medical test.
According to case statement, the victim’s father worked at the brick kiln owned by Mafizul.
The man used to go to the victim’s house and eventually developed a physical relationship with her in 2014 with promises to marry her. But the victim stayed away from him since he did not keep his promise.
On February 6, Mafizul went to the victim’s house and raped her again. He also threatened to kill her if she disclosed the matter to anyone.
