A 32-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly trying to slit a teenager's throat in the Nandankanon Kata Pahar area of Chattogram city.
Police claimed the accused, Md Helal, and the teen are both drug addicts. A fight broke out between them following a dispute over Tk 100 and in a fit of rage, Helal allegedly tried to kill the boy. The 14-year-old has been admitted to a hospital.
"Helal attempted to slit the teen's throat with a blade over just Tk 100. He has been arrested from the Enayet Bazar area and the blade seized from his possession," officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station Mohammad Mohsin said.
The boy is recuperating at Chattogram Medical College and Hospital, the OC added.
