The campaign is set to be launched at 7pm on Wednesday through a webinar.

Young Bangla is the largest youth network in the country, which along with its related organisations has long been carrying out programmes to ensure women empowerment and curbing violence on them.

As revealed by the partner organisations, the campaign will work extensively work on raising awareness to stop violence against women and ensure education, and empowerment of women, equal rights for both genders.

CRI Trustee and Co-chairman and Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) Thematic Ambassador Saima Wazed Hossain and UNDP Country Director Sudipto Mukherjee will grace the launching with their presence.

State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nessa Indira, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Chief Coordinator for Sustainable Development Goals Zuena Aziz, and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed will attend a panel discussion as part of the online launching.

Earlier in March, the Young Bangla and Human Rights Programme of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the ‘Women’s Safety in Public Places’ campaign.

To this end, the youth organisation has already set some stepping stones towards women’s safety and empowerment, and the latest campaign is set as one of those stones.

Young Bangla has, since its inception, has been carrying out, along with its partner organizations, a series of activities such as workshops, seminars, and dramas to boost up awareness about women empowerment, said sources at the youth organization, adding that this campaign will springboard that effort.
