The Indian team's final match on the group stage was a must-win contest against the Proteas Women's team. However, they lost and were knocked out of the competition. There were no major upsets in the ICC Women's World Cup 2022 group stage, but there were some exciting games in this phase. Among the Asian teams, the Indian women's team was expected to get to the semi-finals of the competition. However, they fell short of expectations in the main event and had to settle for fifth place in the points standings. England had a slow start to the competition, but the team has gained momentum as the tournament progressed.

The hosts New Zealand were the biggest disappointment, finishing sixth in the standings.
