3 gunned down in Jhenaidah
Three people were shot dead by unidentified assailants near an irrigation canal in Ramchandrapur area of Jhenaidah on Friday night.
Two of the victims have been identified as Hanif, son of the late Rahaj Uddin from Ahadnagar village in Harinakundu upazila, and his brother-in-law Liton from Srirampur village.
Shailkupa Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Masum Khan said the victims sustained gunshots to the head and chest.
A brickfield worker and a child killed in road crashes in Magura
Police recovered a magazine, two motorcycles, and bullets from the scene.
Locals reported hearing multiple gunshots around 8:30 pm.
Police reached the spot around 10:30 pm and sent the bodies to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Woman 'beaten to death' in Jhenaidah
A 40-year-old woman was beaten to death allegedly by her neighbours over a small matter in Berbinni village of Harinakundu upazila in Jhenaidah district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Asmani Khatun, wife of Amzad Hossain of the village.
The victim's husband said that Asmani had an argument with Sumaiya Khatun, wife of Ujjal Hossain of the village, on Sunday over their children playing in the neighborhood.

Following the incident, Sumaiya, along with her family members, allegedly thrashed Asmani when she went to the canal next to the house of the accused later that afternoon, leaving her critically injured.
Asmani was rushed to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital. She was transferred to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital on Monday after her condition deteriorated, where she succumbed to her injuries this morning.

Sumaiya and her family members are on the run, said Saiful Islam, officer-in-charge of Harinakundu police station. "Details will be revealed following a probe."
