A 19-year-old girl was found dead at her residence in the capital’s Mirpur area on Saturday morning. The deceased was identified as Sanjida Islam Mim, a second-year student of Mirpur (English Version) School and College and daughter of Sakhawat Mridha. Family members took her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 11 am after finding her unresponsive at home. Doctors at the hospital’s emergency department declared her dead on arrival. When she did not respond for some time, they broke open the door and rushed her to the hospital. The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for post-mortem examination, said Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

A 21-year-old student of MC College was found hanging inside a room in her hostel in the Tilagarh area of Sylhet city on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Smriti Rani Das, a first-year student of the English department. She was originally from Kishoreganj district. Smriti used to stay in a room on the second floor of the hostel but her body was found in an unoccupied room on the third floor, he said. Indranil Bhattacharya, an inspector at the Shahporan Police Station, said the body was sent to Sylhet Osmani Medical College and Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
