'Corruption-free, terrorism-free Bangladesh if voters give mandate': Dr. Shafiqur Rahman
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman on Saturday called on voters to support the party in the upcoming parliamentary elections and the national referendum, promising to establish a corruption-free, terrorism-free, extortion-free, and just Bangladesh if given the opportunity.
Speaking at a election rally at Altafunnesha Playground in Bogura city, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said Jamaat does not work alone but aims to unite all stakeholders to build a secure nation. He emphasized that if the party is entrusted with power, it will prioritize governance based on justice, transparency, and public welfare.
“We aim to eliminate corruption, extortion, and terrorism, ensuring a fair and safe Bangladesh,” he said.

The Jamaat leader also highlighted development plans for Bogura, including establishing a university, organizing international-level events at Chandu Stadium, and improving civic infrastructure. He stressed that the party does not impose bribes or unlawful fees and assured that no Jamaat member would engage in extortion, urging citizens to hold leaders accountable.
Dr. Shafiqur also spoke on women’s empowerment, emphasizing that the country will be built with the participation of women, who will be provided employment opportunities based on talent and merit. He promised that unemployment allowances would be replaced with real job creation programs, converting the hands of the unemployed into productive labor.
The rally, presided over by Bogura district Ameer Maulana Abdul Haq Sarkar, was attended by numerous party and allied leaders, including city secretary Professor A.S.M. Abdul Malek, district secretary Maulana Mansurur Rahman, central leaders Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin and Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, and candidates from seven constituencies. Central and local leaders, including members of Islami Chhatra Shibir, NCP, LDP, and BDP, also addressed the gathering.

At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Shafiqur handed over party election symbols to candidates from seven constituencies and urged voters to cast their ballots for them. He later attended additional rallies in Sherpur and Shibganj upazilas, calling for support for Bogura-5 and Bogura-2 constituency candidates.
The rallies drew large crowds, reflecting strong public participation in Jamaat’s election campaign.

Jamaat not to form any election alliance: Ameer Shafiqur
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman on Wednesday (5th November 2025) said they would not form any alliance for the upcoming national election, as it will contest the polls independently.
Shafiqur made the remarks while speaking to reporters at Sylhet Osmani International Airport on Wednesday morning.
The party will ensure the elections are held in February 2026 with the participation of everyone. If elections are delayed, it may lead to various forms of unrest, he said.

Regarding the electoral alliances, he said, “We have not decided to form any alliance, and we will not form one,” he said, adding that there is no scope for the Awami League in the upcoming election.
Speaking about his recent foreign visit, Rahman said he met with Bangladeshi expatriates abroad, who expressed immense warmth and love.
“I am deeply moved by their affection. They have high expectations from the nation and want to contribute to its rebuilding. Yet, despite their significant contributions, we have not been able to show them proper respect,” he said.
It was his first visit to Sylhet after being elected Ameer of the party for the third term.

All murders in the country must be prosecuted: Jamaat Ameer
The Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, has said that all murders in independent Bangladesh must be tried in courts. If not, the cycle of murders would never end, he said.
Similarly, he said the culture of looting will not end if incidents of looting aren't properly tried. "We want to build an exploitation-free, corruption-free, non-communal Bangladesh," he said.
Jamaat Ameer warns fascists will return if unity destroyed
He made these comments as the chief guest at the Jamaat-e-Islami workers’ conference held at Gor-e-Shahid Boro Maidan in Dinajpur on Saturday noon.
The conference was presided over by District Committee Amir, Principal Anisur Rahman. Other speakers included Central Committee Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim, Central Working Council member Principal Maulana Mamataj Uddin, and others.

The workers' conference, organised after 20 years, was attended by grassroots leaders and workers from 14 district organisational committees, including female members, along with nearly a hundred thousand leaders and workers from surrounding areas.
Earlier, they joined the conference in processions. The event was secured with strict security measures, including volunteers, and was conducted peacefully.
