Police in a drive on Sunday arrested two people in connection with their alleged involvement in gang rape of a pregnant woman, who came in South Keraniganj upazila in search of her husband on Saturday. The arrestees were identified as Ashraful Islam Siam, 20, son of Masud Farazi and Jit Sarkar, 19, son of Shambhunath Sarkar of the area. Mazharul islam, officer-in-charge of South Keraniganj Police Station, said the woman came to the Hasnabad CNG Stand area from Chandpur district, in search of her husband on Friday. At one stage, she met Ashraful and Jit while eating at a restaurant. Later, Ashraful and Jit took her to an abandoned house in Pangaon Rishi Para, with a promise to give her shelter and food, where Ashraful and Jit along with two others violated the woman in turns over the night. On Sunday morning, the woman managed to flee from the house and lodged a complaint with South Keraniganj Police Station. The two more accused were identified as Md Limon, 18, son of Harun Mia and Md Yeasin, 18, son of Selim Mia. Four arrested over raping 8-year-old girl in Magura After getting a complaint, police arrested Jit and Ashraful from the area. The arrestees were produced before the court with two-day remand prayer.
