20-year-old injured in dispute over autorickshaw fare, dies in Sylhet
A 20-year-old youth who was injured during a dispute with a battery-run autorickshaw driver over a fare died in Sylhet on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Nazim Uddin (20) of Patni village of Rustumpur union of Gowainghat upazila in Sylhet.
The driver of the autorickshaw has been identified as Saleh Ahmed (55) of Baraghosa village of Rustumpur union of the upazila.

It is known that Nazim Uddin got down in front of Patni Private Primary School on Bangabir-Hadarpar Road around midnight and paid Tk 5 to Saleh Ahmed.
At that time, Saleh Ahmed demanded Tk 10 as a fare, and both of them got involved in an argument over it.
At one point, Saleh hit Nazim on the neck with the bamboo and fled the spot.

Later, Nazim's parents and relatives rescued him and took him to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment, where he died around 4:00 am on Wednesday.
Gowainghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) KM Nazrul Islam visited the spot with a police team.

Two teams of Gowainghat Police are conducting raids to arrest the accused. The body of the deceased was sent to the morgue, said the OC.

British Prince Harry has described in his new book how his older brother, Prince William, physically “attacked” him during a dispute in 2019, according to The Guardian.
The event is described in Prince Harry’s forthcoming memoir “Spare”, which is scheduled to be published on Tuesday amid a persistent dispute within the British royal family, claims the report.
The Guardian said that Prince William reportedly tackled Prince Harry, 38, to the ground after calling his wife Meghan Markle “difficult, rude and abrasive” during an argument in the kitchen of their London residence.

The report quotes Harry’s book: “He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me.”
Then, Prince Harry asked his brother to go. According to the British news outlet, William “looked regretful and apologised,” Harry remembered.
In the conversation between the two princes, which was taken from the book, the newspaper described Prince William as saying, “You don’t need to tell Meg about this.”

Harry was quoted: “You mean that you attacked me?”
To which William apparently responded: “I didn’t attack you, Harold.”
The latest information on the troubled relationship between the brothers comes as their father King Charles gets ready for his coronation in May after the passing of his mother Queen Elizabeth II in September at the age of 96.
In a Netflix docuseries exploring the causes of their surprising departure for North America in 2020, Prince Harry and Markle spoke out about their experiences as members of the British royal family in December.

A man set his motorcycle on fire following a dispute with a police officer in the Court Hargram area of Rajshahi on Monday.The biker, Ashiq Ali,30, set fire to his motorcycle out of frustration after a traffic sergeant wanted to see his driving license and registration documents to penalize him for a traffic rule violation, according to the police.Witnesses said Ashiq Ali was crossing the area riding with two others around 1:45 pm. The traffic sergeant stopped them at the checkpoint and wanted to see his papers.

1 killed over land dispute in Khulna
A 65-year-old man has been killed over land dispute at Shiyali village in Rupsha upazila of Khulna district.
The deceased is Chittaranjan Bala, a resident of Shiyali village in Ghatbhog union of the upazila.
Witnesses said Samir Bala, cousin of the deceased, locked into an altercation with Chittaranjan Bala over their land boundary.

At one point, Samir hit Chittaranjan with a stick when he fell unconscious.
He was rushed to Rupsha Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rupsha Police Station Mosharraf Hossain said Chittaranjan Bala was killed over previous enmity over a land.
35-yr-old killed trying to settle dispute in Kurigram
A 35-year-old man who tried to help mediate a simmering dispute between two families over a love affair was allegedly stabbed to death in Kurigram Sadar upazila.
The deceased was identified as Bakul Mia, son of Abdus Sattar, a resident of the Dharla housing project in Panchgachhi union.
Around 9pm on Thursday in the Dharla housing project area, an argument between the two families over the affair between their son and daughter, respectively, turned violent.

Bakul rushed to the spot and was stabbed as he intervened. A seriously injured Bakul died on the way to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, police said.
Officer-in-charge of Kurigram Sadar Police Station Khan Mohammad Shahriar said "the attacker has not yet been identified". "Efforts are on to identify and nab him."

Man beaten to death over land dispute in Sylhet
A man was beaten to death by his neighbours in Sylhet’s South Surma upazila over a land dispute on Friday, police said.
Deceased Shahabuddin Ahmed Sabul, 45, was an autorickshaw driver and son of Abdul Hamid Akhan Miah of Kuchai Purbapara village of Moglabazar of the upazila.
Five people- Kamrul, Badrul, Malai, Munni and Fahima have been arrested after the incident, police sources said.

According to the police Badrul, Malai, Nazrul and Fakhrul, sons of neighbour Moina Miah, had a dispute with Sabul over land.
On Friday morning, Sabul went to cut down a tree in front of his house when Badrul and his brothers had a quarrel. At one point they started beating him.
Seriously injured Sabul was rushed to Osmani Hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Shefali Begum, wife of the deceased, said, "My husband was cutting down a tree that he had planted yet they beat him to death.”
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Moglabazar Police Station Shamsuddoha said, five people have been arrested over the incident. Police recoved two machetes, iron rods and an axe were from the spot.
The body was sent to the morgue of Osmani Hospital for autopsy, he said.
Chattogram: Two killed in clash over boundary wall dispute
Two youths of a family were killed and three others injured in a clash over a boundary wall dispute in the Monsuria Bazar area of Banshkhali on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Md Abdul Khalek, 30, and Tipu Sultan Mahmud, 26, of the upazila. The injured have been identified as Manjur Alam, 40, Bahadur, 32, and Kamal Hossain, 50.

According to locals, the clash broke out between the two groups in the Monsuria Bazar on Wednesday noon.
Abdul dead on the spot while four others were injured. Tipu succumbed to his injuries on the way to Chattogram Medical College, where others are being treated.
Kamal Uddin, officer-in-charge of the Banshkhali police station, said they had detained two persons for questioning.

Meanwhile, Russell Iqbal, joint secretary of the South District BCL, allegedly consumed poison in the room of the duty officer at the police station for detaining his father in the case He has been hospitalised.
No FIR has been filed in this regard so far, said the OC.
Man slits throat of step brother over property dispute in Chattogram
A man allegedly slit the throat of his step brother over a land dispute in the Pahartoli police station area of Chattogram.
The deceased was identified as Md Kaysar, 45, son of late Jamir Uddin.
The crime occurred on Wednesday night. Around 11pm, police said, Kaysar’s step brother Sajjad Hossain and his accomplices attacked the victim and slit his throat with a sharp object.

Kaysar was immediately rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital by his family members, where he succumbed to his injuries around midnight.
The deceased’s family members told cops that Sajjad belonged to a local anti-social group called Jubo League.
On March 27 too, another brother of Kaysar, Mainuddin Ujjol was stabbed by Sajjad, his family alleged.

Pahartoli police station’s officer-in-charge Imam Hossain said Friday, "The two families are locked in a dispute over a piece of ancestral land. We had earlier tried to resolve the dispute by calling both the parties to the police station."
"We have arrested the three step brothers of Kayser and sent his body for an autopsy," he added.
